Shane Ver Steeg | MDiv, LMSW, ACSW

With over two decades of experience, Shane brings a no-shame, solutions-focused approach to therapy—helping men face challenges head-on, build resilience, and move forward with clarity and strength.

For those who know or are just now figuring it out: shame does not work to minimize problematic behavior or emotional suffering.  Neither does negative thinking.  Neither does ignoring problems hoping they will just go away on their own.  So what does help?  What helps you move forward and be able to regain your footing after you have suffered from a big setback in your life?

Therapy helps.  Good therapy can help quite a bit.

For over 20 years, Shane Ver Steeg has specialized in helping men navigate life’s toughest challenges, particularly in the areas of addiction, recovery, and problematic sexual behavior, including pornography addiction. Working with men ages 16 and up, Shane’s approach is both compassionate and practical, helping clients build healthier relationships with themselves and others while providing effective strategies for lasting change.

Shane integrates a unique blend of neuroscience, mindfulness, and cognitive behavioral therapy to offer clients a comprehensive, science-backed approach to healing. He utilizes grounding techniques and pastoral psychotherapy techniques, providing clients with both emotional support and practical tools to move forward. Additionally, Shane is trained in EMDR and Bilateral Stimulus therapy, techniques that are especially beneficial for those suffering from anxiety and trauma.

In addition to his therapeutic work, Shane provides executive coaching for business leaders and has worked closely with pastors and churches since 2012, offering coaching and consultation services. His work with leaders across various sectors adds a depth to his practice, helping men in leadership positions manage the pressures and struggles they face both personally and professionally.

Whether you’re struggling with addiction, trauma, depression, anxiety, or sexual disorders, Shane is committed to providing you with the support, insight, and practical tools needed to regain control, build resilience, and heal.
